JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration Begins – Check Syllabus, Other Details | JEE Main 2026 to Have On-Screen Calculator First Time

National Testing Agency, NTA has started the registration process for JEE Mains 2026 Session 1. Candidates who want to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2026 Session 1 can find the direct link through the official website of NTA JEE at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The last date to apply is November 27, 2025. The exam city details will be out by the first week of January 2026.

The Session 1 exam will be held between January 21 to January 30, 2026. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages i.e., English, Hindi, Assemese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.The candidates can apply for Session 1 (January 2026) Examination only and pay the Examination Fee accordingly. A separate opportunity will be given to the candidates to apply for Session 2 (April 2026) Examination (using the same Application Number, if applied for Session 1) along with the fee payment option, for which a notification will be issued later. If the candidate wishes to apply for Session 2 (April 2026) only, they may register later and pay the Examination Fee when the Application Form is made live for that Session.

For the first time in the history of JEE, JEE Main 2026 will feature an On-Screen Calculator. This is one of the biggest updates and will help students solve lengthy numerical questions faster — especially in Physics & Mathematics.

This feature will be available in both B.E/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning papers.

How to Apply for JEE Mains 2026?

Eligible candidates can apply for the JEE Main exam by following the steps such as:

  • Visit JEE Main’s official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the JEE Main 2026 Registration link
  • A new login page will be displayed on the screen 
  • Fill out the required details to register
  • Login using the newly generated credentials and fill out the JEE Main 2026 application form
  • Now, upload the documents as required 
  • Make the payment of JEE Main fee
  • Check all the details and click on submit
  • Download the confirmation slip

Documents required for registration

  • Aadhaar Card or Valid ID

  • Class 10 & 12 details

  • Scanned Passport size Photo

  • Scanned Signature

  • Category Certificate (if applicable)

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2026. Any applicant who does not fulfil the JEE Main eligibility criteria will not be offered admission despite their performance in the exam. The eligibility requirements are: 

  • Students applying for the exam must be Indian citizens, Foreign Nationals, NRIs, PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin), and OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India).
  • Candidates must have completed class 12th in 2024, 2025 or should be appearing in 2026.
  • There is no JEE Mains age limit.
  • No minimum marks required in Class 12 to appear in JEE Mains.
