India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the official IMD Recruitment 2025 Notification for 134 vacancies across multiple positions, including Admin Assistant, Project Scientist, Technical Assistant, and other posts. Job Roles & Responsibilities

1. Project Scientist

2. Admin Assistant

• Handle administrative tasks, documentation, office coordination, file management, and communication.

3. Technical/Scientific Support Staff

• Assist in weather data processing, instrumentation, laboratory work, and field operations.
• Support software development, GIS operations, and technical maintenance.

• Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Project Scientist (Various Levels)

  • Educational Qualification:M.Sc or M.Tech/M.E in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, or related fields & B.Tech/B.E may also be accepted for certain roles.
  • Age Limit:Typically up to 35–40 years (post-wise relaxation applicable as per government rules).

  2. Admin Assistant

  • Educational Qualification:Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university 
  • Age Limit:Up to 30 years (relaxation as per rules).

  3. Technical/Scientific Posts

  • Educational Qualification:B.Tech/B.E or M.Sc in relevant disciplines.
  • Age Limit:Up to 35 years depending on position.
