The Indian Railways has released a preliminary notification for 5696 Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies across all Railway Recruitment Boards in the Employment News Paper on January 20, 2024. The registration window for RRB ALP 2024 opened on January 20, 2024, and last date to apply on February 19, 2024. The Initial selection will be made through Computer Based Test.

Eligibility Criteria:
(1) Candidates must have either Matriculation/ SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/ SCVT in the following trades: Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/ Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Mechanic. Alternatively, Matriculation/ SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the mentioned trades is also accepted.
(2) Another option is Matriculation/SSLC plus a three-year Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile Engineering, or a combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized institution in lieu of ITI.
(3) Note: A degree in the mentioned Engineering disciplines will also be acceptable in lieu of a Diploma in Engineering.
