Established under the Territorial Army Act of 1948, the TA comprises officers, junior commissioned officers, and other ranks who serve on a part-time basis but undergo regular military training. It includes both departmental (Railways, Oil, Telecom, etc.) and non-departmental units (Infantry Battalions and Ecological Task Forces).

The main goal of the Territorial Army is to relieve the regular army from static duties and assist in maintaining internal security, disaster relief, and other essential services during crises. 1. Physical Fitness / Physical Efficiency Test (PFT / PET)

• Eligibility Criteria:
  1. Class 10th / Matric Pass from a recognized board.
  2. Must have at least 45% marks in aggregate.
  3. Must have a minimum of 33% marks in each subject.
  4. For boards following the grading system:
  5. Minimum of Grade D (33%–40%) in each individual subject.(Overall aggregate of Grade C2 or equivalent, corresponding to 45% in total.)
