Uttarakhand char dham yatra refers to the four religious sites of Hindus in Uttarakhand. The Char Dham refers to Yamunotri dham, Gangotri dham,  Kedarnath dham and Badrinath dham. Yamunotri dham is dedicated to goddesses Yamuna, Gangotri dham is dedicated to goddess Ganga, Kedarnath dham is dedicated to Lord Shiva while Badrinath dham to Lord Vishnu. One can visit  these dhams by road and by air route.

 (1) Yamunotri dham yatra by helicopter:

Yamunotri dham is situated at the height of 3293 meters above sea level in uttarkashi district of uttarakhand. It is the source of river Yamuna and the starting point of char dham yatra. Helicopter services to Yamunotri, the first dham of Char dham are available from Dehradun to Kharsali Helipad, which is 6 km away from Yamunotri Shrine. Palki and Pony are available at Kharsali for further journey.

 

(2) Gangotri dham yatra by helicopter:

Gangotri dham is one of the four dham of char dham. It is situated at an altitude of 3185 meters above sea level in uttarkashi district of uttarakhand. One can avail helicopter services for Gangotri  dham from dehradun/ Haridwar to Harsil, a beautiful place 22 km away from Gangotri temple or if they are returning from Yamunotri dham helicopter services to Gangotri dham are available From Kharsali helipad for Harsil. Cabs are available for further journey to Gangotri temple.

 

 (3) Helicopter services to Kedarnath dham:

Kedarnath is one of the twelve jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva . It is situated at an altitude of 3580 meters above the sea level in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. It was constructed by Adi guru Shankaracharya in the 8^th century AD. Devotees take 14 km track from Gaurikund to offer prayers. Helicopter services to Kedarnath are available from Phata, people can visit Kedarnath and can return to Phata on the same day. One can reach Phata by air from Dehradun or Haridwar.

 

 (4) Helicopter services to Badrinath dham:

Badrinath dham is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Guarded by two mountains, Nar and Narayan, this temple is at an altitude of 3133 meters above sea level. Char dham yatra culminates at Badrinath dham. You can avail helicopter services from Kedarnath helipad in continuation of your char dham yatra. Helicopter services to Badrinath dham are also available from Dehradun. Helicopter services from dehradun to Badrinath is an uninterrupted journey that will take you  till the Badrinath helipad.
