Understanding Your CA Final Marksheet

Understanding Your CA Final Marksheet

Your next steps depend on how well you understand your marksheet after the CA Final result date announcement.

Details included in the scorecard

The CA Final scorecard provides detailed information about your name, registration number, roll number, qualification status, and overall result (Pass/Failed). Your total marks, percentage, grade, and Certificate of Practice (COP) eligibility details appear on the scorecard when applicable.

Group-wise and paper-wise marks

The marksheet shows your subject-wise marks along with group-wise totals and percentages. You need to score at least 40% in individual subjects and 50% in total across each group. This balanced performance will help you advance to ICAI membership.

What does 'Pass with Distinction' mean?

Students who score 70% or more of the total marks in a single sitting receive the prestigious "Pass with Distinction" remark on their scorecard. Any fraction of half or more gets rounded up to the next whole number when calculating this difference.

How to interpret exemption status

You receive an exemption for any paper where you score 60% or higher but fail to clear the group. The exemption appears as "#" next to your subject marks and remains valid for three consecutive examination attempts. Your result shows "F-Ex" to indicate fail with exemption.

Verification of marks and certified copies

You can request mark verification within one month after result declaration if you're unsure about your scores. This check looks for unvalued questions, totaling errors, and confirms complete answer book compilation. The service costs ₹100 per paper with a cap of ₹400 per group. ICAI refunds these fees if they find any discrepancies.

Eligibility for rank certificate and merit list

ICAI awards prestigious rank certificates to top performers, which recognizes their academic excellence. These certificates boost your professional credibility and employers value them highly.

Next steps if you didn't pass
