Appointees ensure continuous care across general wards, intensive care units (ICUs), and specialty departments within central government healthcare establishments.

Recruitment for NORCET-11 follows a two-stage examination process. Stage I consists of the NORCET Preliminary Exam—a 90-minute screening test featuring 100 multiple-choice questions (80 from nursing core subjects and 20 from general knowledge and aptitude) scheduled for 12 September 2026. Candidates who clear the screening cutoffs move on to Stage II: the NORCET Mains Exam, held on 30 September 2026. The Mains stage is a 180-minute clinical skill evaluation comprising 160 case-scenario MCQs, which serves as the sole basis for the final merit list and institute allocation.

• Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification (Route I): B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) or State Nursing Council recognized institute/university, OR Post-Certificate / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution. Registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council is mandatory.

  • Educational Qualification (Route II): Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized board or council, valid registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State/Indian Nursing Council, AND a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds (acquired after completion of qualification and council registration).

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of the closing date, 13 August 2026.

  • Age Relaxations: SC/ST candidates receive a 5-year relaxation, OBC candidates receive 3 years, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) receive up to 10 years (subject to a maximum age cap of 56 years). Central Government Civilian Employees with 3+ years of regular service also receive applicable age relaxations.

• Application Fees:

  • General / OBC Candidates: ₹3,000/- (non-refundable).

  • SC / ST / EWS Candidates: ₹2,400/- (fee will be refunded to SC/ST candidates after the declaration of results, provided they appear in the examination).

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Completely exempted from fee payment.

  • Payment Mode: Online payment via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking during application submission.

• Pay Scale:

  • Pay Level: Level 07 in the Pay Matrix under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).

  • Pre-Revised Scale: Pay Band-2 of ₹9,300–₹34,800 with a Grade Pay of ₹4,600.

  • Classification: Group ‘B’ Non-Ministerial, Non-Gazetted Post.

  • Allowances: Entitled to standard Central Government allowances including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Nursing Allowance, and Uniform Allowance as applicable per posting location.
