GBPUAT Recruitment 2026 for 45 Associate Professor and Assistant Professor Posts

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, has released a recruitment notification for 45 Associate Professor and Assistant Professor posts under Employment Notice No. A-32/2026. The recruitment is being conducted for backlog teaching vacancies in different colleges and academic departments of the university. The available positions include 28 Associate Professor posts and 17 Assistant Professor posts.

The selected candidates will be responsible for teaching students in their respective subjects and departments. Their work may include conducting lectures and practical classes, guiding students, preparing academic materials, participating in research activities, and supporting other university-related academic work. Associate Professors may also be involved in research supervision and other senior academic responsibilities.

• Eligibility Criteria:

  For Associate Professor

  • Candidates generally need a Ph.D. in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline.
  • A Master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade is generally required.
  • Candidates should have around 8 years of teaching/research experience as prescribed for the concerned post.
  • The notification requires the prescribed number of research publications and research score for applicable disciplines.
  • For Veterinary posts, the required veterinary qualification and professional registration may also be necessary.
  • Technology posts have specific degree requirements depending on the discipline.

  For Assistant Professor

  • Candidates generally need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned or relevant subject.
  • NET/SLET/SET qualification is required wherever applicable.
  • Candidates with an eligible Ph.D. may receive exemption from NET as per applicable rules.
  • Veterinary positions may require B.V.Sc. & A.H., registration and the prescribed Master's qualification.
  • Technology posts require the relevant engineering/technology degree and the prescribed qualification for the concerned discipline.

• Application Fees:
  • OBC candidates: ₹1,500/-
  • SC/ST candidates: ₹750/-
  • The fee is to be paid through the prescribed Demand Draft in favour of the Comptroller, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology.

• Pay Scale:
  • Associate Professor: Academic Pay Level 13A with rationalized entry pay of ₹1,31,400 per month.
  • Assistant Professor: Academic Pay Level 10 with rationalized entry pay of ₹57,700 per month.
  • Other benefits and retirement benefits are applicable according to the university and relevant government rules.
