IIT Roorkee Recruitment 2026 is inviting applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) positions under a research project in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The project focuses on trusted-node-free hybrid quantum secure communication networks and involves advanced research in quantum communication and secure networking.

Selected JRF candidates will work on research and development activities related to quantum key distribution, communication networks, FPGA/software development, routing, and experimental testbeds. These are project-based contractual positions at IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The initial project duration is two years and may be extended further, subject to project requirements and performance. Selected candidates may also get an opportunity to pursue PhD-related research at IIT Roorkee, as per institute rules.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates should be Indian nationals.
- For JRF, candidates may have M.E./M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics/ECE, Physics or related fields.
- B.E./B.Tech. candidates in ECE, CSE or equivalent disciplines may also be eligible with the required CGPA.
- M.Sc./MCA candidates in Physics, Instrumentation, Electronics or Computer Science may also apply as per the notification.
- JRF candidates generally need to qualify a national-level test such as GATE/NET, or have a degree from a Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI).
- For Research Associate, candidates should have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Science, Physics or an equivalent field, or the prescribed relevant research/development experience after M.Tech.

Application Fees:
