The PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 for 243 Posts has been announced by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh for eligible nursing candidates. This recruitment is being conducted for 243 Nursing Officer posts under Group B on a regular basis. The selected candidates will work in the healthcare environment of PGIMER and will be responsible for providing proper nursing care to patients.

A Nursing Officer performs important duties such as monitoring patients, maintaining nursing records, assisting doctors and other medical staff, administering medicines as prescribed, supporting patient treatment and following hospital safety procedures. Candidates with B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing or eligible GNM qualification can apply as per the prescribed recruitment rules. GNM candidates must also fulfill the required nursing registration and experience conditions. The selection process will be based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by application scrutiny and document verification. The CBT will consist of objective-type questions and will include negative marking for incorrect answers. • Eligibility Criteria:

  Candidates must meet the required qualification and age conditions on the crucial date, 3 October 2026.

  • Age Limit: 18 to 35 years.
  • B.Sc Nursing: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or Regular B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university/institute.
  • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc Nursing can also apply.
  • Registration: Candidates with the nursing degree must be registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Midwife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council.
  • GNM Route: Candidates with a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) can apply if they have the required State Nursing Council registration.
  • Experience for GNM: GNM candidates must have at least 1 year of experience after qualification in a minimum 50-bedded hospital.
  • Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved and other categories as per government rules.
