In 2025, Valley of Flowers National Park was added to the UNESCO tentative list as a World Heritage site. This recognition aims to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable tourism. The park is home to a vast variety of endemic alpine flowers and endangered species.

Uttarakhand adapted the “Lakhpati Didi Yojana” to train rural women in entrepreneurship, digital skills, and micro-businesses. The goal is to empower at least one woman per SHG family to earn ₹1 lakh annually.
