• These positions are for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor across various academic departments of CUHP. 

• Teaching, research, academic administration and contribution to the development of the discipline/university are expected.

• For Professors: A master’s degree with high marks, several years of teaching/research experience, publications, etc. 

• For Associate Professors: Ph.D in relevant discipline, valid teaching/ research experience (8 years or so) in academic institutions. 

• For Assistant Professors: Master’s degree (often first class) in the relevant subject; NET/SLET or equivalent examination may be required; research credentials where applicable. 

• Selection process: Screening based on academic/ research score as per UGC regulations, followed by interview. 

• Location: Dharamshala, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. Full-time regular/contract posts.

• Eligibility Criteria:
  • A Master‘s degree in a Hindi/History/Political Science/Public Administration/Education/ Economics/Gandhian Studies with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed and MA/PG Diploma (one year)/ Diploma (one Year) in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Studies / Deen Dayal Upadhyay Philosophy/Thoughts/ Contribution from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Hindi/History/Political Science/Public Administration/ Education/Economics/Gandhian Studies subject conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET. OR
  • A Master‘s degree in a Hindi/History/Political Science/Public Administration/Education/ Economics/Gandhian Studies subjects with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed and PhD in any of Social Science/Education/ Economics/ Hindi/Gandhian Studies Discipline / subject specifically on a topic related to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Studies / Deen Dayal Upadhyay Philosophy/Thoughts/ Contribution.

  Assistant Professor:

  • Full time 3/4 years Bachelor Degree or 3 years Diploma after 10+2 with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped) in Hospitality/ Hotel Administration/Hotel Management from a recognized University or equivalent
  • A Master‘s degree with first class (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Hospitality/ Hotel Administration/Hotel Management from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • Minimum of three years of experience of Hotel Industry (4 Star and above category Hotels) and/or teaching (after Post-graduation) in an Institute affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology/AICTE or State board of technical education/recognized University.)

  Associate Professor: 

  • A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
  • A Master‘s degree with first class (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Hospitality/ Hotel Administration/Hotel Management from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College/ Accredited Research Institution/hotel industry (4 Star and above category Hotels) with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2

  • Assistant Professor: ₹ 57,700 – ₹ 1,82,400 (Academic Level-10)
